Grants Guidelines
The Community Foundation, in considering
grant
proposals, gives careful consideration to:

Identified
Need:
Needs are well documented and represent a significant problem in our community. |
| 2. |
Unmet
Need: The
targeted populations served lack their own resources and are underserved. |
| 3. |
Problem-Solving: The proposal squarely addresses the need, offers
problem solving and prevention. |
| 4. |
Significant
Impact: The budget and objectives are reasonable. |
| 5. |
Reach: Proposal has significant reach into needs and
community. |
| 6. |
Organizational/Applicants
ability to implement: There exists the leadership, experience, knowledge
and expertise amongst board, staff, and volunteers to effectively implement and sustain
the proposed program. |
| 7. |
Collaboration/Coordination/Cooperation: The proposal contains evidence of collaboration,
cooperation, consultation and networking with others working in the field. |
| 8. |
Fiscal
Responsibility: The organization is fiscally responsible. |
| 9. |
Evaluation: Applicant has an understanding of, or plan for,
program evaluation to improve program performance and effectiveness. |
These grant guidelines
apply only to the unrestricted philanthropic funds of the Community Foundation and not to
those funds for which the beneficiary or beneficiaries have been designated by the donor
or for which the donor has restricted the use of a particular fund to a specific
charitable purpose or geographic area. Those designated and restricted funds will be
administered by the Community Foundation separately in relation to their respective donor
agreements.
